Car rentals in Alaska?
What is the best option for car rentals in Alaska. My pickup is going to be at fairbanks and dropoff at anchorage. I want to rent it for around 6 days. Right now i can see only hertz and avis as options which are fairly costly. Is there a cheaper car rental company which you would recommend?
Unless the extended drive is part of your vacation plan you might consider renting a car in which every place you will be spending more time and taking the Alaska Railroad between the 2 places. If you figure in the rental car and gas it can be mush cheaper to take the train. And it travels a beautiful route.
And that opens up your rental options too. Arctic rent on Dale road is usually a good bet, and I have heard good things about rent-a-wreck.
both are not located right at the airport, but that’s good, cause then your not paying extra to cover airport fees. And many Fairbanks hotels have a airport shuttle that will pick you up and take you to your car is your staying with them.
