The New Terminal 3 In Malaga Airport

The airport in Malaga on the Costa del Sol is Spain’s fourth most visited airport in the country and in 2009 the airport had nearly 12 million passengers. As one of the most popular holiday destinations in Europe Malaga have been looking forward to the day they could present a modern airport and on the 16th of March the new terminal is used for the first time by passengers. Pablo Picasso Airport has undergone an extensive refurbishment and goes from being one of the most unattractive airports in Europe to be one of the most beautiful and hopefully it also helps to give passengers a better end experience.

The new airport also offers a brand new parking garage, direct access to trains and at the end of 2010, the new runway is to be ready. The new structure at the airport will cause a higher efficiency for the traveler and all the passengers who travel directly from England with British Airways will be landing at the new Terminal 3 Traveling thus passenger with Monarch, Easyjet and Ryanair will still arrive in the old Terminal 2

The new terminal will also have a major impact on the summer of 2010, which traditionally breaks records of travelers. In recent years the construction of the new terminal has made it difficult for both travelers and the many different companies, such as car rentals, who work in the airport. If you have rented a car upon arrival in Malaga for your summer holiday, you should obtain your car faster than before.

The airport of Malaga is still not fully completed and they expect that the construction ends in late 2010, so do not expect that the new terminal immediately solves all problems, but it will in any cases help things to run better.

The entire Costa del Sol has benefited enormously from the new airport and Malaga city is especially looking forward to the opening. Malaga city has also started an extensive remodeling and soon, the city presents a Metro and a new large harbor area with restaurants, bars and shopping centers. Easter 2010 is just around the corner and that means a strong growth of tourism in Malaga, and for Easter it should be possible to take the train directly from the new airport and until the heart of the city. If you are going on a city break in Malaga you will right away notice the changes.
